- Monday to Friday 8am – 6pm
- Open all year except bank holidays and 2 weeks at Christmas
- Funding can be stretched to include school holidays
Settling at Playdays
We understand that starting childcare can be a big step for both children and parents. Our settling-in process is designed to help everyone feel comfortable, confident and supported.
- Initial Visit – Visit Playdays, meet the team and explore the setting.
- Informal Discussion – We take time to answer any questions, discuss your child’s individual needs and talk through any concerns you may have.
- Child Involvement – We encourage children to attend visits so they can become familiar with the environment and begin building relationships with our team.
- Individual Support Planning – We work closely with families to understand children’s routines, interests, strengths and any additional support they may require.
- Free Settling Sessions – We offer one or two settling-in sessions to help children gradually become comfortable in the setting and with our practitioners.
- Building Relationships – Settling sessions allow us to get to know your child and family, helping us provide personalised care from day one.
- Sharing Information – Parents can share important information about routines, favourite activities, likes and dislikes, and ways to comfort their child.
- Additional Needs Support – Where appropriate, home visits may be offered for children with additional needs, helping us get to know the child in a familiar environment and ensuring a smooth transition into the setting.
- Open Communication – We will work in partnership with you throughout the settling-in process to ensure both you and your child feel happy, supported and confident at Playdays.
Our aim is to make the transition into childcare as positive, relaxed and individual as possible for every family.
Ofsted Information
- Playdays is registered with Ofsted as required by all early years settings.
- We are awaiting our first inspection.
- Lauran & Playdays Childminding was previously graded outstanding by Ofsted.
