Our Story
Playdays Child Care is a family-run nursery led by wife-and-husband directors, Lauran and Andy.
The Playdays journey began as Playdays Childminding, operating from our family home for five successful years. During this time, Lauran built a reputation for providing high-quality childcare in a warm and nurturing environment and was awarded Ofsted Outstanding at her first and only childminding inspection.
Following the success of Playdays Childminding, Lauran went on to gain further experience managing a nursery setting, developing her leadership skills and extensive knowledge of early years education.
Today, Playdays Child Care combines the personal feel of a family-run setting with the expertise gained through years of hands-on childcare and nursery management experience.
We are also proud to be supported by a fantastic team of experienced and dedicated early years practitioners who share our passion for providing high-quality childcare and helping every child reach their full potential.
Alongside co-directing Playdays, Andy continues to work as a Learning and Skills Officer, delivering professional training and development in Children’s Services. This experience helps support our commitment to continuous improvement, high-quality practice and investing in the ongoing development of our team.
Together, we are passionate about creating a welcoming nursery where children can learn, grow and thrive while building strong partnerships with families.
Our Approach
We believe every child is unique and learns at their own pace. Through play-based learning, nurturing relationships and individual support, we help children develop confidence, independence and a lifelong love of learning.
Our experienced practitioners create engaging learning opportunities that encourage curiosity, creativity and exploration while supporting all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
